Annual Highlands ConferenceThis yearly event was a joint venture of the Archeological Society of New Jersey and the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society. It is now is a joint venture of the Orange County Chapter, New York State Archaeological Association, (NYSAA), Archaeological Society Of New Jersey (ASNJ), and North Jersey Highlands Historical Society (NJHHS). It is organized by Edward J. Lenik. The conference, held in late October, begins with an archeological tour in the Highlands region and hosts eight scholarly presentations. 2011 ConferenceSaturday, October 15Lautenburg Visitor Center, Sterling Forest State Park, 115 Old Forge Road, Tuxedo, NYCall for Papers. Archaeologists and historians, professional and avocational, are invited to speak at Saturday’s conference. Presentations should be no more than 25 minutes long and may be illustrated with slides or other graphic materials. A PowerPoint projector is available.
